Integrity means accuracy, completeness and consistency of data over the entire life cycle of the data. In the simple world, integrity of data means data must not change during transit and steps must be taken for the data /information cannot be altered by unauthorized entities.
The above figure clearly illustrates the concept of integrity. A information/ data “XYZ” is sent from A to B. If the information received by B is “XY” or XYX” then there is no data integrity. The data received by B should be “XYZ”, then there will be data integrity.
